How YouTube Changed My Life in Just 20 Videos
Video number 20 was a large achievement for beginning and continuing our YouTube journey. Our goal for our channel was just to start it. That’s it, super simple, just starting.
This blog gives specific details of how creating and posting 20 YouTube videos has changed my life:
I’ve been spending countless of hours watching and enjoying my favorite creators, most of whom give advice to small creators just starting out.
I’ve taken a little bit of what each of them says and have implemented it into my own videos.
The biggest takeaway so far for this journey is “No idea is a bad idea when you’re getting started”.
Meaning, don’t feel like you must stick to one “niche” when you’re just getting started, it really doesn’t matter (Colin and Samir Advice)
All that matters is that you get started and upload 100 videos as fast as you possibly can (Mr. Beast Advice).
Through those 100 videos, you will fail and that is honestly the best thing for you.
In my video I mentioned how I am 22 and have dreams of one day succeeding on YouTube etc. and how I want to succeed now.
It’s basically human instinct, who doesn’t want to succeed right now?
Through making 20 YouTube videos and exploring other creators’ content, I have come to conclusion that I need to delay gratification.
This blog is action packed with some key takeaways, so let’s dive straight into the details.
#1 YouTube Gives me Creative Fulfillment
There’s something about the process of creating a YouTube video that gives me a large sense of creative fulfillment.
Creative fulfillment to me, is different than any other kind of fulfillment I receive through my 9-5 job.
I use a different part of my brain when I make videos and being able to tap into it
and expressing how I feel through film, Makes me extremely happy.
#2 Excitement
Having the opportunity to create in my own way is a true blessing. I’m extremely grateful to have the opportunity to create, successful or not.
I believe that you are in control of your own attitude each day.
when I wake up in the morning, no matter how groggy I am, I say:
“Today is going to be a great day” and I thank God for a new day. Because everyday is a blessing and the fact that I am here right now, is a gift.
That’s how every day should be looked at, an opportunity to get better and to do something you enjoy.
If you aren’t doing something you love, my advice to you is, it’s okay. Get a piece of paper, write down some ideas and brain storm.
If you’re in a tough situation, it’s also okay, get some paper and a pen and just brainstorm of what you can control.
Don’t stress out about what you can’t control and set a small step to make things better for yourself.
Continue this trend (the hardest part) and I promise it will get better over time.
#3 It’s Challenging
Working on something every day and not seeing any results is really challenging.
Human nature tells you to take the least resistive path.
I do have doubt, I do feel fear, I do question myself.
I wonder to myself: Is anyone ever going to read this?
Maybe not?
Okay, lets continue to work.
You can’t give up on anything, you must go all in, you don’t have a choice.
And a little secret is, once you get started, which is the hardest part, you won’t want to stop.
#4 Every Like and Comment is Motivating
I get so motivated when I see a new like or comment. Even new views are rewarding.
I’ve been trying not to focus on the results so much and have been focusing more on the process itself.
I’ve read books and done my research, even from my own life experience, I know that results are just a distraction from the process,
and you can’t get there unless you lean into the process and craft.
Discipline.
#5 Listen to Your Calling
I got in with the wrong crowd a few different times.
Throughout my childhood and young adult years, my environment and self-harm kept me back from taking this leap.
I’m very thankful and blessed to finally can listen to myself again.
Seriously, you just got to listen to that little voice in your head.
EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED.
#6 Don’t Compare Yourself
I get deep on this topic in my video and when I re-watched it, I could tell how passionate I was about this topic.
We must un-do the damage that has been done to our generations.
There’s no surprise that young people are the most sad and anxious they have ever been because they are constantly,
watching people do things probably better than what they’re doing on their screen and algorithm.
You must trust yourself, lean into your process and live in your reality.
Stop worrying about the highlight reel and focus on you.
Cut back the screen time and get outside.
