Note: (this is the end point of the 3.4 mile hike)

It’s quite rewarding and extremely magical.

Waimoku Falls is a sacred trail that is a prime representation of the Hawaiian Culture. Note, if you do decide to partake in this hike, please treat it with respect and leave the trail better than you found it.

The 3.4 Mile Hike begins well before you reach the park entrance.

Note: Haleakala National Park charges a fee to enter: $30 per vehicle or $25 per motorcycle. If you enter on foot or bike $15 a person.

This adventure can be a long day, Maui’s Hana highway is a 60 mile intense road that rides along the Maui Coastline. While you do not ride the entire road to reach the starting point, the drive can range well over an hour, depending on where you begin.

Make sure to pack a lunch and plenty of water

Once you start the hike, you will reach a total of seven great waterfalls, before reaching the amazing Waimoku Falls. During the hike, you encounter a boardwalk through a dark and intense bamboo forest.

Mid point (about 2 miles in), You become surrounded by thousands of bamboo trees and some of the most sacred land to all of Hawaii.

Important Note: As a hiker, it’s always important to be prepared and careful. Please note that this hike is difficult and is only recommended to experienced (and respectful :) hikers.

Make sure to check weather that day. Flooding can happen on the road to Hana and in the park.

My personal favorite was the moss covered deep jungle, of which that looked right out of a ferry tale.
